The TacFire BU-GLK23 is a complete, built slide assembly for the Glock 23 Gen 3, giving you a straightforward path to a red-dot-ready pistol without piecing a build together yourself. It measures 8.80 inches long and 2-1/2 inches wide, machined for tight compatibility with Glock 23 platforms and also friendly to Polymer80 frames if you're going the custom route.
The slide is cut from 416R stainless steel and wears a graphite black Cerakote finish that shrugs off wear and corrosion, which matters on a carry or range gun that sees a lot of handling. Front and rear serrations give you a positive grip for press checks, charging, and clearing malfunctions, and the optics cut is machined to the Trijicon RMR footprint so you can drop in a compatible red dot when you're ready.
Since this is a complete built assembly rather than a bare stripped slide, it takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation. It ships with an optics cover plate and mounting screws, so if you're running irons for now, you're covered until an optic goes on. Worth noting: the channel liner is not installed or included, so plan on adding that along with your barrel and internal parts to finish the build.
When you mount your optic, TacFire recommends torquing the screws to a max of 10-12 in-lbs and adding a single drop of blue Loctite to keep things put under recoil. The included hardware uses a 6-32 x 7/16 inch screw size. It's a clean, no-frills upgrade for anyone building out a Glock 23 or refreshing an older pistol with a modern optics-ready setup.
It's built for the Glock 23 Gen 3 platform and also accepts Polymer80 frames, which makes it a solid pick for both factory Glock upgrades and custom builds. Keep in mind it's designed around Gen 3 dimensions, so that's the setup you want to match it with.
It's a complete built slide, but it still needs a barrel and internal slide parts to become a functioning assembly. The channel liner is not installed or included either, so budget for those pieces to finish the build. Once fitted with your barrel, striker assembly, and channel liner, it's ready to go on a frame.
