The TacFire BU-308-20 takes most of the guesswork out of finishing an AR-10 build. It arrives fully assembled and chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO, pairing a 20-inch black nitride barrel with a black anodized 7075-T6 receiver. Because it already includes the bolt carrier group and charging handle, you mate it to a compatible DPMS-pattern lower and you're one range trip away from a working rifle. That extra barrel length is the real story here, giving the .308 room to reach its potential for longer shots and downrange energy.
The barrel runs a 1:10 twist with a rifle-length gas system, which is a sensible setup for .308 and helps smooth out the recoil impulse on this caliber. The 5/8×24 muzzle threads come capped with an A2 flash hider, so you can swap in a brake, comp, or suppressor mount whenever the mood strikes. Black nitride treatment on the barrel adds a hardened, corrosion-resistant surface that holds up to heat and hard use.
Up top you get a full-length Picatinny rail for optics, magnifiers, or backup irons, and the free-float M-LOK handguard opens the door to lights, bipods, grips, and slings without touching the barrel. Free-floating the barrel also helps with consistency, since nothing you bolt on pulls against the point of impact. No sights come installed, which is what most builders want anyway, since it lets you dress it out your way.

This upper is built to the DPMS LR-308 low-profile pattern, which is the most common AR-10 standard on the market. It will pair up with a DPMS-pattern .308 lower for proper fit and function. If your lower is an Armalite AR-10 pattern instead, double check compatibility before ordering.
The upper ships complete with the bolt carrier group and charging handle already included, so the top half is done. You'll still need a compatible .308 lower with a complete lower parts kit, buffer tube assembly, magazine, and an optic or sights of your choice. Once those are together, it's ready for the range.
The 20-inch barrel lets the .308 cartridge build more velocity, which helps with downrange energy and precision at distance. That makes it a strong pick for bench work, long-range practice, and hunting where a longer, ethical shot might come up. The tradeoff is a bit more length and weight up front compared to a 16 or 18-inch build.
