TS stands for thumb safety. This version has a single-sided manual safety lever on the left side of the frame, in addition to the internal safeties built into every Shield Plus. If you prefer a carry gun without one, S&W makes a no-thumb-safety version, but many people like the added peace of mind.
No, original single-stack Shield magazines are not compatible with the Shield Plus. The Plus uses a wider stack-and-a-half magazine design, which is how it fits 13 rounds in a grip barely thicker than the original. The six mags included in this bundle give you a solid supply right out of the gate.
It is one of the most popular micro-compacts out there for good reason. At 6.1 inches long and about 20 ounces, it hides easily inside the waistband, and the 13+1 capacity gives you more rounds than most guns this size. The flat trigger, grip texture, and 18-degree grip angle also make it easier to shoot well than older micro pistols.
