No, this version (MPN 13534) ships without a thumb safety, which a lot of carriers prefer for a simpler draw. It still has a flat face trigger with an integrated blade safety, plus a takedown system that lets you field strip without pulling the trigger. If you want a thumb safety, S&W does make Shield Plus variants that include one.
In most cases, yes. The Shield Plus keeps nearly the same external dimensions as the original 9mm Shield, so the majority of existing Shield holsters fit fine. Just keep in mind that if you mount a red dot, you may need a holster with an optic cut up top.
It comes from the factory with tritium night sights front and rear. The front sight has an orange ring around the tritium vial for fast pickup in daylight, while the rear is blacked out so it doesn't compete with your front sight focus. They also co-witness usefully as backup irons if you add a low-mounted red dot.
