Same slim profile that made the Shield a carry favorite, but now with a stagger-stack magazine that bumps capacity to 10+1 without making the grip feel bulky. This version adds a manual thumb safety on the left side of the frame, which is a big deal for folks who came up on 1911s or just want that extra step between holstered and ready. The lever sits low and snag-free, so it stays out of the way when you don't need it.
The flat face trigger is one of the biggest upgrades over the older Shields. It gives your finger a consistent place to land every time, and the reset is short with a tactile, audible click you can feel through gloves. The 18-degree grip angle points naturally, and the enhanced grip texture strikes a nice middle ground: grippy enough to control recoil during fast strings, but not so aggressive it chews up your side during all-day carry. No, this particular configuration has a standard slide with 3-dot white sights and no optic cut. Smith & Wesson does make optics-ready Shield Plus models if a red dot is in your plans, but this one keeps it simple with proven iron sights.
Yes. This model ships with two 10-round magazines, but it accepts the extended 13-round Shield Plus magazines sold separately. The extended mags add grip length for larger hands while the flush-fit 10-rounders keep the package as concealable as possible. Note that original single-stack Shield magazines are not compatible.
The Shield Plus keeps nearly the same slim footprint as the Shield M2.0 but uses a stagger-stack magazine for noticeably more capacity. It also gets a much improved flat face trigger with a crisp break and short, tactile reset, plus upgraded grip texture. Most holsters made for the Shield M2.0 fit the Plus as well.
