Smith & Wesson fits a Strike Industries compensator to a 4.869 inch spiral-fluted, threaded barrel at the factory, so the whole package leaves the box tuned to shoot flat. The comp redirects gases to fight muzzle rise, and the fluting trims barrel weight while helping the steel shed heat during longer strings. The difference shows up most when you shoot fast, with the sights settling back on target quicker between shots.
The slide is cut for popular red dots, and S&W's ClearSight cut diverts comp gases away from the optic window so your dot stays clean instead of fogging over with carbon. If you'd rather run irons, you're covered there too with an orange tritium front night sight paired with a plain black U-notch rear, a setup that draws your eye right where it needs to go in any light. Aggressive serrations front and rear make press checks and slide manipulation easy even with sweaty hands.
The flat-face trigger gives you consistent finger placement and a cleaner break than the standard M2.0 setup, with a crisp reset that rewards a fast trigger finger. Yes. The comp threads onto a standard 1/2×28 threaded barrel, so it comes off and a suppressor or other muzzle device threads right on. That flexibility is a big part of the appeal of this configuration.
