The 16.3 inch barrel comes threaded 5/8×24 with a protector installed, so a suppressor or muzzle device spins right on. Out of a 16.3 inch barrel, .357 picks up a serious velocity bump over a revolver, and it will also feed .38 Special when you want cheap, soft shooting practice ammo or a mild introduction for a newer shooter. Recoil in either loading is easy on the shoulder, and at around 6.4 pounds the rifle carries all day without complaint.
