Because the Equalizer is internal hammer fired rather than striker fired, the trigger is true single action with a short take-up, clean break, and a reset you can both feel and hear. The lighter recoil spring makes the slide noticeably easier to work, and deep serrations front and rear give your fingers plenty to grab. Recoil is softer than you'd expect from a 22.9 ounce micro nine, which makes follow-up shots quicker and range sessions a lot more pleasant. This is the NTS model, so there's no manual thumb safety to sweep off. Instead you get a grip safety that deactivates naturally when you take a proper firing grip, plus a loaded chamber indicator, and it disassembles without pulling the trigger.
