The TLR-8 G Sub packs a serious amount of capability into a tiny footprint. This version uses a dedicated clamp built for the closed accessory rail on the Sig Sauer P365 and P365 XL, so there is no fussing with adapters or trying to make a full-size light hang off a small frame. You get 500 lumens of white C4 LED light and a green laser working together, giving you target identification and a fast aiming reference in one unit.
The white LED pushes 5,000 candela with a beam that reaches out to 141 meters, so you can light up a room or a driveway without any trouble. The green laser sits at the 510-530nm wavelength, which the eye picks up faster than red, especially in daylight or bright indoor conditions. You can run the light alone, the laser alone, or both at once, and there is a user-enabled strobe if you want it. Ambidextrous rear paddle switches are the standard controls, and Streamlight includes an interchangeable set so you can tune the feel to your hands and shooting style.
Power comes from a single CR123A lithium battery, which is included in the box, and you get about 1.5 hours of continuous runtime on light or the light and laser combo. The safe-off feature on the bezel keeps the unit from switching on in a bag or against a holster, which saves your battery for when you need it. Zeroing the green laser is done with the included tool, and since the emitter sits below the bore, plan your zero around the distance you shoot most and expect a small amount of holdover at close and far ranges.
The body is machined from anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and carries an IPX4 water-resistant rating, so a little rain or rough handling is no issue. The rail grip clamp lets you attach and remove the light without putting your hand in front of the muzzle. One thing worth planning ahead for is a holster, since a light-bearing subcompact needs a rig cut specifically for the Sig plus TLR-8 Sub combo.
Yes, this specific version uses a clamp designed for the closed accessory rail on the P365 and P365 XL, so it mounts securely without adapters. Keep in mind it is not made for the P365 XMACRO. If you carry a XMACRO, you would need the 1913 version with the correct rail key.
Green light is easier for the human eye to pick up, especially in daylight or bright indoor settings where a red dot can wash out. That makes the green laser quicker to spot and easier to track at distance. It draws a bit more power than red, but the tradeoff in visibility is worth it for most people.
The unit comes with an adjustment tool to move the green laser for windage and elevation. Since the emitter sits below the bore, there is one true zero distance where the laser and bullet path line up, with slight variation above or below at other ranges. Pick a zero based on the distance you shoot most and you will be in good shape for close-range work.
You can, but you will need a holster cut specifically for your Sig P365 or P365 XL with the TLR-8 Sub attached. A generic holster will not clear the light, so shop for a light-bearing rig made for this exact combo. Plenty of makers offer IWB, AIWB, and OWB options for it.
