Description

Slim carry guns like the Glock 43X and 48 don't leave much room for a weapon light, which is exactly the problem Streamlight built the TLR-7X Sub to solve. This one clamps onto the rail of your 43X MOS, 48 MOS, or the railed 43X and 48 models and throws 500 lumens with 5,000 candela out to roughly 141 meters. That's plenty of reach to identify what you're looking at across a room or down a hallway before you make any decisions, and it does it without ruining the trim profile that made you carry the gun in the first place.

What Sets the TLR-7X Sub Apart

The big story here is multi-fuel power. It ships ready to run on a single CR123A lithium battery, but you can also drop in a Streamlight SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable pack if you'd rather top it off instead of swapping cells. On the CR123A you'll get about 1.5 hours of runtime, and the SL-B9 gives you around an hour with the convenience of recharging. The other standout is the interchangeable rear paddle switches, so you can set up the controls to match how you actually grip and index the gun rather than adapting to whatever the factory picked.

Built to Take a Beating

The body is machined from anodized aircraft aluminum with a snag-free shape that won't hang up on the draw. It carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, so rain, sweat, and the occasional dunk aren't going to be a problem. Ambidextrous rear switches with high and low modes keep it friendly for lefties and righties alike, and there's a user-enabled strobe if you want it.

Mounting and Everyday Carry

The rail clamp system is the part folks tend to appreciate most. It snaps on and off from the side of the frame using the supplied key, which means you're never putting a hand in front of the muzzle to get it seated. A Safe Off feature locks out accidental activation while it's holstered or sitting in a drawer, which keeps the battery from draining when you least expect it. At about 2.4 ounces and a hair over 2.5 inches long, it's light enough that your subcompact still carries like a subcompact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the TLR-7X Sub fit my Glock 43X or 48?

This model is built specifically for the Glock 43X MOS, 48 MOS, and the railed 43X and 48 versions. If your slide is cut for an optic or your frame has the factory accessory rail, you're in good shape. Guns without that rail won't accept it, so double-check that your frame has a rail before ordering.

Can I run a rechargeable battery in the TLR-7X Sub?

Yes. It's a multi-fuel light, so it runs on the included CR123A lithium battery or Streamlight's SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable pack, which is sold separately. Both deliver the full 500 lumens and 5,000 candela. The CR123A gives you about 1.5 hours of runtime and the SL-B9 runs about an hour per charge.

How does the light mount without pointing my hand at the muzzle?

The rail clamp attaches and detaches from the side of the frame using the supplied key. That side-loading design means your hands stay clear of the muzzle during install and removal. It's a quick, secure setup that doesn't require any additional tools beyond what comes in the box.

Does the TLR-7X Sub have a strobe and a way to prevent accidental activation?

It does. The strobe is a user-enabled feature, so it's there if you want it and out of the way if you don't. The Safe Off function locks out the switch to prevent the light from turning on by accident while holstered or stored, which also keeps you from draining the battery.
