This is the factory Springfield Armory extended magazine for 9mm XD-M Compact pistols. It gives you 19 rounds of capacity in a magazine designed to work with your compact frame.
The magic is in the included black X-Tension sleeve #2. Slide it onto the magazine and it fills the gap between your grip frame and the magazine baseplate, letting you use the full-size magazine capacity without losing the compact feel you're used to. The sleeve aligns with backstrap #2 to create a seamless transition from compact to full-size grip. If you've already got backstrap #2 installed on your pistol, this magazine is sized to match it perfectly.
The magazine body is stainless steel with a natural finish that matches the rest of the XD-M family. Inside you'll find a stainless-steel spring and a polymer follower for reliable feeding, shot after shot. The polymer baseplate keeps things lightweight while handling the weight of 19 rounds of ammunition.
This is a spare mag situation or a capacity upgrade if you want more rounds downrange without changing pistols. Whether you're at the range or just want backup magazines on hand, it's a solid factory addition to your XD-M Compact setup.
This is designed for the XD-M Compact pistol. The 19-round capacity extends beyond the compact grip frame, which is why the X-Tension sleeve comes with it. Without the sleeve, it won't fit properly in the compact. If you have a full-size XD-M, Springfield makes different 19-round magazines designed for that frame.
The sleeve slides onto the magazine and fills the gap between your grip frame and the magazine base. It lets you use the full 19-round capacity while keeping the feel of your compact pistol. The #2 sleeve is sized to work with backstrap #2. If you have a different backstrap (#1 or #3), you'll need the matching sleeve number.
Technically you could, but it won't sit flush with your grip frame. The mag would stick out past the bottom of your compact frame, making it uncomfortable to hold and carry. The sleeve is what makes this work for compact carry or shooting.
This is the official factory Springfield Armory magazine. It's made to the same specs and standards as what comes with XD-M Compact pistols. You're getting the same quality and reliability Springfield includes with their firearms.
It can, but XD-M Elite models have a magwell that needs to be removed for this magazine to fit properly. If you have an Elite Compact, check with Springfield or your manual to confirm compatibility with the magwell configuration on your specific pistol.
