The feed lips are usually the first thing to go on a 1911 magazine. Thin, exposed, and easy to bend, they cause most of the feeding hiccups you run into at the range. CMC set out to fix that with the Railed Power Mag, better known as the RPM. Instead of standard feed lips, this design uses dual-wall feed rails built right into the tube, which CMC rates at least twice as strong as traditional 1911 feed lips. That means fewer jams from warped or spread lips and a smoother feeding surface for your rounds.
Everything here is built around lasting through hard use. The body is heavy-duty stainless steel with a laser-welded tube, so it holds its shape and shrugs off corrosion whether you're carrying, competing, or just burning through range ammo. Inside, you get 19 coils of high-tensile rocket wire spring driving the patented RPM follower. That follower is alloy-frame safe, so it plays nice with lighter-framed 1911s as well as steel guns.
CMC drilled numbered witness holes down the side so you can check your round count at a glance without pulling anything apart. When it's time to clean, the base pad pops off for easy access to the spring and follower, and the smooth outer finish helps the mag drop free and seat back in without dragging. Little things, but they add up over a long day of shooting.
