The Springfield Armory XDM5003C is an OEM polymer sleeve designed specifically for owners of XD-M Compact pistols running the #3 backstrap. It solves a real problem: you want the magazine capacity of a full-size XD-M magazine in your compact pistol, but you don't want an awkward gap between the magazine base and your grip. This sleeve bridges that gap perfectly, letting you run full-size 9mm or 40 S&W magazines without any exposed magazine body below the frame.
The sleeve simply slides over your full-size magazine, filling in the space between the extended base plate and your pistol's grip. The result is a seamless, single-piece appearance that looks like your gun was designed to carry those higher-capacity magazines in the first place. This sleeve is made specifically for the #3 backstrap on XD-M Compact models with a 3.8-inch barrel. Getting the right size matters. If you're running a different backstrap, you'll want to grab the corresponding sleeve (Springfield makes them for backstraps #1 and #2 as well). The sleeve doesn't extend the magazine length at all, keeping your overall profile low and concealable.
