Springfield could have slapped a new roll mark on the Saint Victor and called it a day. Instead, they went through the rifle piece by piece and upgraded the parts people were swapping out anyway. The mil-spec charging handle is gone, replaced by a Radian Raptor with true ambidextrous levers. The long right-side safety got traded for a short-throw 45-degree ambi selector, and the trigger is now a flat-faced GI unit with a nickel boron coating that breaks noticeably cleaner than a standard mil-spec bang switch. Even the oversized SAINT billboard on the lower is gone, replaced with cleaner, low-profile markings.
The bones here are legit. Forged 7075-T6 receivers pulled together with Springfield's Accu-Tite tension system, a 16-inch CMV barrel with a continuous taper profile, Melonite finish, and a 1:8 twist that handles everything from 55 grain plinking ammo up to heavier match loads. The mid-length gas system runs off a taper-pinned low-profile gas block, and the enhanced bolt carrier group uses a 9310 steel bolt that's been HPT/MPI tested. A carbine H heavy tungsten buffer smooths out the recoil impulse, and the 4-prong flash hider does a nice job killing muzzle flash in low light. Range reports on the V2 line back it up too, with reviewers running hundreds of rounds of mixed ammo without a single stoppage.
The Tungsten Gray Cerakote covers the receivers and the free-float M-LOK handguard, and it looks sharp against the black B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD stock and Type 23 P-Grip. That handguard uses Springfield's triple-lock mounting system with a full-length top rail, plenty of M-LOK space for lights and accessories, and seven QD cups so you can run a sling however you like. Low-profile flip-up sights come installed, a 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 comes in the box, and at 6.12 pounds this thing carries easy all day. Out of the box, there's nothing you need to change before hitting the range.
Quite a bit, and most of it is stuff owners asked for. The V2 swaps the mil-spec charging handle for a Radian Raptor ambi model, replaces the long right-side safety with a short-throw 45-degree ambidextrous selector, and upgrades to a flat-faced nickel boron trigger. It also gets a continuous-taper 4150 CMV barrel with a 4-prong flash hider, a stronger handguard mounting system with real M-LOK slots, true low-profile flip-up sights, and a flared magwell for quicker reloads.
It's genuine Cerakote applied over Type III hardcoat anodized 7075-T6 receivers and the handguard, so you're getting a ceramic-based finish that stands up to solvents, scratches, and general range abuse far better than paint. The barrel itself wears a black Melonite finish for corrosion resistance inside and out.
Yes. The chamber is cut for 5.56 NATO, which safely handles both 5.56 and .223 Remington ammunition. The 1:8 twist barrel is a nice middle ground too, stabilizing everything from light 55 grain range ammo up to heavier 77 grain match loads.
It does. Springfield includes low-profile adjustable flip-up front and rear sights already installed, so you can zero and shoot the day you bring it home. A 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 comes in the box as well, and the full-length top rail is ready for a red dot or scope whenever you want to add glass.
