Big-bore ARs have a reputation for being heavy, clunky, and overbuilt. The Saint Victor V2 in .308 goes the other direction. At 8.1 pounds unloaded with a 38.5 inch overall length, it swings and shoulders more like a carbine than a typical AR-10, and the 16 inch 4150 chrome moly vanadium barrel is a big part of why. The continuous taper profile trims weight where it isn't needed while keeping enough meat near the chamber for consistent accuracy, and the nitride finish shrugs off corrosion and cleans up easy. A 1:10 twist stabilizes the full range of common .308 loads, from 147 grain plinking ammo up to heavier match bullets.
The second generation Saint Victor is a real refresh, not a sticker change. The bolt carrier group is built around a 9310 steel bolt that gets both high pressure testing and magnetic particle inspection, and the gas block is taper pinned to the barrel so it stays put no matter how hard you run the gun. Up top you get forged 7075-T6 receivers with Type III hardcoat anodizing and Springfield's Accu-Tite tension system to keep the fit snug. The free float aluminum handguard uses Springfield's locking tab mounting system with a full length top rail, M-LOK slots, and QD sockets, so mounting lights, bipods, and slings is a non-issue. The nickel boron coated flat trigger breaks clean and makes it noticeably easier to shoot this rifle up to its potential.
This configuration wears a Magpul fixed stock, a Strike Industries grip, and an SA muzzle brake on the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle that takes real bite out of .308 recoil. Low profile flip-up iron sights come installed front and rear, and a 10 round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 ships in the box, so you can put rounds downrange the day you pick it up. Whether you want a do-it-all .308 for hogs, deer, or ringing steel past where a 5.56 gets lazy, this one earns its spot in the safe.
It ships with a 10 round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 and runs on the common SR-25/DPMS large frame AR pattern. That means Magpul LR/SR PMAGs and other SR-25 pattern magazines will feed it without any fuss, so spares are easy to find.
