The Sightmark Element 1×30 is a no-fuss red dot built around a 2 MOA reticle that makes fast, both-eyes-open shooting feel natural. Running it with both eyes open keeps your peripheral vision wide open for better situational awareness and quicker target-to-target transitions, which is exactly what you want on an AR or a shotgun. With 1x magnification and a 30mm objective, you get a clean, uncluttered sight picture and unlimited eye relief, so head position on the gun stays forgiving.
Sightmark kept this one compact on purpose. A practical clamp-style Picatinny mount trims the bulk and gives the Element a streamlined profile that sits about an inch shorter than a lot of competing tube-style dots. The housing is 6061-T6 aluminum, nitrogen purged, and built to shrug off recoil and rough handling. One clever touch is the windage and elevation caps, which flip off and double as adjustment tools, and the raised edges around them help keep the turrets protected in the field.
You get 10 brightness settings including off, plus two dedicated night vision modes so the dot can co-witness with an NV device. It runs on a single CR2032 battery, and depending on the brightness level you're using, runtime lands anywhere from 100 to 15,000 hours. The Element is also NV-compatible and plays nicely with a magnifier mounted behind it if you want to stretch out to longer distances.
Rated IP67, the Element is waterproof to about 3 feet and shockproof, along with being fogproof from the nitrogen purge. Adjustments click at 1 MOA per detent with roughly 110 MOA of total windage and elevation travel, giving you plenty of room to get zeroed and dialed in. For a compact, dependable dot that handles range days and field work without complaint, the Element 1×30 covers a lot of ground.
The Element uses a 2 MOA red dot reticle. That's a nice middle-ground size that's fine enough for precise aiming at distance but still quick to pick up for close, fast shooting. It works well for both-eyes-open shooting on AR platforms and shotguns.

The Element uses a practical clamp-style mount that attaches to a standard Picatinny rail. Sightmark recommends torquing the mounting nut to 35 to 45 in/lbs and being careful not to overtighten. If you're running a magnifier or NV device behind it, mount the sight a little further forward on the rail to leave room.
