Description

The MPX has been a fixture in the pistol caliber carbine world for years, and this PCC version is the one SIG built for people who want to show up to a match with nothing left to upgrade. The headline feature is the trigger. SIG teamed up with Timney to develop a flat-faced single-stage trigger specifically for the MPX, and it makes a real difference when you are trying to run fast splits on steel. Add the three-chamber compensator on the 16-inch carbon steel barrel and muzzle rise is about as tame as 9mm gets.

Why the MPX PCC Runs So Smooth

Unlike most 9mm carbines that rely on a heavy blowback bolt, the MPX uses a short-stroke gas piston system firing from a closed bolt. The practical upside is softer recoil, a cleaner action, and reliability that has made this platform a top pick in USPSA PCC division, including with champions like Lena Miculek. The slim free-floating M-LOK handguard gives it a familiar AR-style feel in the hand, and the controls will feel like home if you have spent any time behind an AR. Better yet, the safety, charging handle, bolt release, and mag release are all fully ambidextrous, so lefties are not an afterthought here.

Built for Match Day and Range Day Alike

The 5-position telescoping stock also folds to the side, which shrinks the 35.25-inch overall length down for easier transport in a range bag or case. At 6.63 pounds it swings quick between targets without feeling whippy. The barrel is threaded M13.5×1 under that compensator if you ever want to run something different, and the full-length Picatinny top rail is ready for the red dot of your choice since it ships without sights.

Feeding the SIG MPX PCC

SIG includes one 35-round polymer magazine, so you are set for long stages or extended range sessions right away. Cheap, plentiful 9mm ammo means you can practice a lot without wincing at the ammo bill, which is half the appeal of a good PCC in the first place. This one just happens to do it with more polish than most.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SIG MPX PCC come with sights?

No, this model ships without iron sights. The full-length Picatinny top rail is ready for whatever optic you prefer, and most buyers mount a red dot since that is the go-to setup for PCC competition and general range use.

How is the MPX PCC different from a blowback 9mm carbine?

The MPX runs a short-stroke gas piston system firing from a closed bolt instead of a heavy blowback action. That translates to noticeably softer recoil, less bolt slap, and a smoother shooting experience overall. It is a big part of why the MPX has such a strong following in competitive PCC circles.

Is the MPX PCC really competition ready out of the box?

That is the whole point of this version. The Timney single-stage trigger, three-chamber compensator, and free-float M-LOK handguard are the upgrades most people would make anyway, and SIG builds them in from the factory. Add an optic and ammo and you are ready for a match.

Can I swap the compensator on the MPX PCC for a different muzzle device?

Yes. The 16-inch carbon steel barrel is threaded M13.5×1 under the factory compensator, so you can run a different device that matches that thread pitch. Just keep in mind the metric threading is less common than 1/2×28, so check compatibility before buying.
