The 1911 X-Series is Sig Sauer's answer to a question a lot of 1911 fans have been asking: why should the polymer guns get all the optics love? This full-size .45 ACP pairs the classic 5 inch government profile with a slide milled for a direct-mount compact red dot, sitting low enough that the included XRAY3 day/night sights stay useful whether you run glass or not. Underneath all that is a stainless steel frame and slide wearing a coyote tan PVD finish, with the 5 inch carbon steel barrel done in black DLC for a sharp two-tone look that also holds up to real use.
Sig didn't stop at the optic cut. The frame gets an undercut trigger guard so you can choke up high, a checkered front strap for grip when your hands are sweaty, and a removable metal magwell that speeds up reloads on the clock. The extended ambidextrous thumb safety and extended slide stop work for lefties and righties alike, and a Picatinny rail up front handles a light or laser.
