The Mountain Partisan Sling comes straight out of Shield Arms' soft goods line built for the guerrilla fighter working in rugged, mountainous terrain. It was designed by former Green Beret and R&D man Tyler Imig, who pulled together the features he actually wanted from the slings he carried over the years and folded them into one clean, durable package. The whole line runs on a simple idea: gear should be effective, tough, and blend into its surroundings. The two-stage progressive tension is the heart of this thing. It gives you controlled resistance as you cinch down, so you can lock the rifle tight against your body for a hike or a climb, then loosen up fast when it's time to shoulder and shoot. The quick-adjust system rides right where your support hand naturally falls, and the easy index thumb loop gives you something to grab in a hurry. Add in the solid-lock bi-directional adjustment and it holds where you set it without creeping loose on you.
This sling is made with abrasion-resistant Cordura nylon and an abrasion-resistant shoulder sheath, so the parts riding on your shoulder and the parts dragging across rock and brush are the parts built to handle it. Shield Arms also runs redundant hardware into the design, meaning there's backup in the connection points rather than a single point of failure. It's the kind of construction that makes sense once you've had cheaper gear let you down in the field.
