It's CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the same aerospace-grade billet Shield Arms uses across their magwell line, then finished with a Type-2 anodized coating for durability. The wide opening is the star of the show, but the contoured shape also adds a bit of extra real estate to grab onto, which helps lock in your grip during recoil. Whether you're running S15 magazines, OEM Glock mags, or Shield Arms extensions, it plays nice with all of them.
No gunsmith needed here. It's a drop-in job with the included hardware, and most folks have it buttoned up in under ten minutes. Keep in mind this is cut for the standard grip, so if you want to keep running a backstrap you may need to do a little trimming to make room.

Yes, it's cut specifically for the Gen 5 Glock 17, along with the Gen 5 Glock 22 and 45 full-size frames. It will not fit Gen 3 or Gen 4 frames, since those use a different backstrap and grip geometry. Double-check your generation before ordering.
