Most AR pistols come off the line in the same flat black, and after a while they all start to blur together at the range. The Copper from Shark Coast Tactical does not have that problem. The Cerakote treatment on the receiver set and handguard mimics aged, patinaed copper, so the gun looks like a well-traveled relic while shooting like a modern build. It is a distinctive finish that gets noticed, and because it is Cerakote, it also adds a real layer of scratch and corrosion resistance instead of just being for show.
Underneath the finish is a straightforward, well-sorted 5.56 NATO pistol. The 10.5 inch barrel wears a black nitride treatment for bore life and easy cleanup, and the threaded muzzle means you can swap muzzle devices whenever the mood strikes. That barrel length is a sweet spot for the platform, close to the classic MK18-style setup, short enough to move quickly indoors or in and out of a vehicle while still burning enough powder to keep 5.56 effective. Capacity is the standard 30 plus 1, and it feeds from regular AR-15 pattern magazines, so mags you already own will drop right in.
The aluminum upper carries a full-length Picatinny rail up top for optics, and the free-float M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of space for a light, hand stop, or sling mount without stacking on weight. Out back, the SB Tactical SBA3 rides on an adjustable-position buffer tube, which makes it easy to dial the length to your build and gear. A polymer grip and thumb safety round out the controls in familiar AR fashion.

You can. This pistol is chambered for 5.56 NATO, and a 5.56 chamber safely handles both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. That gives you plenty of flexibility when stocking up on range ammo.
The aged copper look is a Cerakote finish, not paint. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating known for strong scratch, wear, and corrosion resistance, so it protects the metal while giving the gun its weathered patina character. Normal handling and range use will not rub it off.
The 10.5 inch black nitride barrel comes with a threaded muzzle, so swapping muzzle devices is simple. 5.56 AR barrels use the standard 1/2×28 thread pitch, which covers the vast majority of flash hiders, brakes, and suppressor mounts on the market.
