Left-handed hunters know the drill. Most rifle lineups treat you like an afterthought, and you end up reaching over the action or settling for whatever's available. The Savage Axis 2 Pro in .350 Legend fixes that with a proper left-hand action, so the bolt falls right where your hand wants it. Chambered in .350 Legend, it's a natural fit for deer hunters working straight-wall cartridge country, with mild recoil and plenty of punch inside 200 yards.
The 18 inch heavy sporter barrel is spiral fluted to trim weight and threaded 5/8-24 at the muzzle, so adding a suppressor or brake is a simple swap. Savage builds accuracy in with thread-in headspacing and the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets you dial the pull to your liking without a trip to a gunsmith. Up top, a one-piece Picatinny rail comes installed from the factory, making scope mounting quick and giving you plenty of ring placement options. A detachable box magazine holds four rounds, and the redesigned ergonomic bolt handle gives you better purchase when you're running the action with cold or gloved hands.
The Forest SP Camo synthetic stock features an added textured coating that keeps its grip when things get wet, and the Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote on the barrel and receiver stands up to rain, snow, and truck-bed abuse a lot better than traditional bluing. At around 6.5 pounds bare, it carries easily through timber and into the stand without wearing you out.
Between the straight-wall friendly chambering, the suppressor-ready barrel, and features that usually show up on pricier rifles, this Axis 2 Pro covers a lot of ground for lefties. Top it with a solid 3-9x or similar hunting scope, spend an afternoon at the bench getting the trigger dialed, and it's ready for opening day.
Yes, this model (MPN 32368) is built with a genuine left-hand action, meaning the bolt handle and ejection port are on the left side. It's not just a right-hand rifle with a swapped stock. That makes cycling the action from the shoulder much more natural for left-handed hunters.
You can. The 18 inch spiral-fluted barrel comes threaded 5/8-24 from the factory, which is the standard thread pitch for most .35 caliber suppressors and muzzle brakes. Just thread on your device of choice and confirm zero afterward, since adding a can typically shifts point of impact slightly.
No, it ships without sights or optics. Savage does install a one-piece Picatinny rail on the receiver at the factory, so all you need is a set of rings and the scope of your choice. A quality 3-9x hunting scope pairs nicely with the practical range of the .350 Legend cartridge.
It's a natural whitetail rifle, especially in areas where hunters favor straight-wall cartridges. The .350 Legend hits hard on deer and hogs out to around 200 yards while producing noticeably less recoil than most traditional deer calibers. The weather-resistant Cerakote finish and textured camo stock make it a solid choice for tree stands and blinds in wet or cold conditions.
