Take the Model 110 action that Savage has been refining for decades, shrink it down to a 21.5-inch overall package, and drop it into a purpose-built MDT chassis. That is the 110 PCS in a nutshell, and it is a genuinely fun way to run .308 Winchester. The heart of it is a factory blueprinted 110 bolt action with a left-hand bolt and right-side ejection, a layout that makes a lot of sense here. You can keep your firing hand on the grip and work the bolt with your support hand, which is quick and natural once you get a few magazines through it.
The medium-contour 10.5-inch carbon steel barrel wears a 1:10 twist with 5R rifling and a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle, so adding a suppressor or muzzle device is simple. Up top there is a 0 MOA one-piece Picatinny rail for glass, and since there are no iron sights, plan on a scope or red dot from day one. The AccuTrigger is the same user-adjustable unit Savage puts on its rifles, and it gives you a clean, crisp break you can tune to your liking without a trip to the gunsmith.
Savage did not cut corners on the furniture. The one-piece machined aluminum chassis comes from Modular Driven Technologies and includes a 7-inch free-float M-LOK forend with a Cerakote finish, barricade grooves milled into the front of the mag well, and an ambidextrous magazine release. It feeds from AICS-pattern magazines and ships with a 10-rounder. The grip is AR-15 compatible, so swapping in your favorite is a five-minute job, and the rear-facing Picatinny rail gives you a solid attachment point for accessories.
At 5.6 pounds bare, this is a handy platform for hunting from a blind, ringing steel from a bag, or building out a compact precision rig. It carries the Model 110 reputation for out-of-the-box accuracy in a package that fits where a full-size rifle will not.
No, it ships without sights. It does come with a 0 MOA one-piece Picatinny rail machined right into the top, so you can mount a scope, red dot, or LPVO of your choice. Most owners run a compact variable scope given what the .308 barrel is capable of.
It is intentional. With a chassis pistol like this, a left-side bolt lets a right-handed user keep their firing hand on the grip while cycling the action with their support hand. Ejection is still out the right side, so brass stays clear of your face.
It feeds from AICS-pattern detachable box magazines, which are one of the most common short-action precision magazine standards out there. One 10-round mag comes in the box, and aftermarket options from MDT, Magpul, and others are easy to find.
Yes. The MDT chassis accepts most AR-15 pistol grips, so if you have a favorite from your other builds it will likely drop right in. It is an easy way to dial in the feel without any custom work.
