Most .30 caliber cans rated for magnum cartridges run somewhere between 7.5 and 9 inches. The Rugged Razor762 does the same job in 6.4 inches and 15.3 ounces, which is why it has earned a loyal following among folks running shorter rifles and gas guns. It is rated all the way up to .300 RUM with no barrel length restrictions, and it carries Rugged's Belt Fed Rated stamp, meaning sustained full-auto fire is fair game. This FDE version wears a high-temp Cerakote finish that holds up to serious heat while giving your rifle a clean, low-key earth-tone look.
The Razor762 starts as 17-4 PH stainless steel bar stock, gets heat treated, and houses a core of full circumference welded Stellite baffles. That combination shrugs off the heat and bullet-borne abrasion that wear out lesser cans. Rugged even places the engraving over the thickest cross section of the tube, so if you ever manage to damage it beyond repair, replacement is quick and painless. Back that up with Rugged's unconditional lifetime warranty and you have a can built for hard use, not shelf queens.
Rugged's Dual Taper Locking System is one of the better QD setups out there. The front taper creates a tight, concentric gas seal that keeps carbon out of the threads, while the rear taper friction-locks the can in place. Interchangeable front caps let you tune the Razor762 to what you are shooting. Run the included 7.62 cap for .308, 300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor and the big magnums, or pick up a 5.56 cap to tighten things down for your AR.
