Suppressors do a great job taming noise, but plenty of them still throw visible flash at the muzzle, especially with shorter barrels and hot 5.56 loads. That flash gets real obvious once the sun goes down, whether you're running night optics, hog hunting after dark, or just shooting a low-light match. Rugged built this front cap to fix exactly that problem. It replaces the standard flat front cap on your Rugged rifle suppressor and knocks the flash signature down dramatically, so your muzzle stays dark when it matters.
One of the smartest things Rugged did with their rifle can lineup is make the front caps user-swappable, and this 5.56 cap takes full advantage of that. It threads right onto the Razor556, and since Rugged's rifle suppressors share the same front cap interface, it also fits cans like the Radiant762, Surge762, Razor762, Micro30, Alaskan360, and Alaskan360Ti when you want a tighter 5.56 bore up front. Running a caliber-matched cap on a .30 cal can is a nice trick for squeezing a little extra performance out of your suppressor on a 5.56 host.
The numbers here are easy to live with. The cap weighs 1.4 ounces and the flash hider prongs only extend about a half inch past the face of the standard front cap, so you're not turning your setup into a flagpole. Steel construction with a black finish means it shrugs off muzzle blast and matches the look of your can. Swapping it on takes a minute, and having a spare cap on hand is never a bad idea anyway since front caps take the brunt of the abuse on any suppressor.
If your Rugged can spends time on an AR in low light, this is one of those small upgrades that makes a noticeable difference every time you pull the trigger after dusk.

Just remember the bore is sized for 5.56, so only shoot 5.56/.223 through your suppressor with this cap installed.
Its main job is reducing visible flash, not sound. That said, putting a caliber-matched 5.56 cap on a larger .30 cal Rugged can tightens the exit bore, which can give you a modest bump in suppression on a 5.56 host. The big win is at night, where your muzzle flash pretty much disappears.

Yes, the front caps on Rugged rifle suppressors are user-serviceable and swap out quickly. Remove the standard cap, thread this one on, and snug it down. It's a good idea to check that it's tight after your first few rounds, same as any muzzle-end part.
