This is the genuine Ruger factory magazine purpose-built for the American Rifle platform in magnum calibers. You get a dedicated 3-round capacity that's actually ideal for magnum hunting where every shot counts and rifle balance matters during those long stalks. The single-feed design prevents double-feeding and keeps things smooth and predictable every time you work the action.
Ruger machines these from reinforced polymer with a steel wire spring and polymer follower that work together to handle the pressures of magnum cartridges without any fuss. The tolerances are tight enough that you won't get any wobble when the magazine's seated, and the feed lips are precisely molded to hold your rounds exactly where they need to be. Everything about this mag is built to Ruger's specs and manufactured using the same process and materials as the magazines that ship with the rifle from the factory.
The pivoting locking lug makes one-handed removal simple and keeps the magazine locked in tight when it's in the rifle. The sleek profile sits flush in the stock without any protruding edges that'll snag during a hunt or get in the way at the range. If your American Rifle is equipped with a removable long action magazine well assembly, this mag fits securely and stays put through the roughest field conditions. The maximum cartridge overall length this magazine will handle is 3.37 inches, which gives you room to work with different bullet weights while staying within safe feed parameters.
While optimized for 6.5 PRC, this same magazine works across multiple magnum calibers that share the long action platform. It feeds 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, 7mm PRC, and 6.5 PRC with equal reliability. If you're running any of these calibers in a Ruger American Rifle Magnum action, one magazine does the job across your entire arsenal.
No, this magazine is specifically designed for Ruger American Rifles equipped with a removable long action magazine well assembly. It won't fit other brands or shorter action variants of the American platform. Always verify your rifle has the proper long action magazine well before ordering.
Yes, this single magazine is cross-compatible with 6.5 PRC, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, and 7mm PRC when they're all chambered in the same long action rifle. Many Ruger American Rifle owners keep one magazine and swap it between different barrel assemblies.
The 3-round capacity is deliberate for magnum rifle use. It keeps the rifle properly balanced during long stalks and reduces overall weight compared to higher-capacity magazines. With magnum calibers designed for ethical one-shot hunting, three rounds is plenty and reflects how experienced hunters actually use these rifles in the field.
This is genuine factory Ruger OEM equipment manufactured to the exact same specs and tolerances as the magazine that ships with your rifle. It's built using Ruger's standard manufacturing process and materials, so fitment and function are guaranteed to match perfectly.
