The forged lower receiver hosts an RRA single stage trigger and an A2 grip, while the 16 inch chrome moly barrel wears an A2 flash hider on standard 1/2-28 threads, so swapping muzzle devices down the road is simple. The CAR-length gas system with a low profile gas block tucks neatly under the handguard and keeps the carbine cycling smoothly with both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington loads. The port door is there to keep grit out of the action, and RRA skipped the forward assist to keep the upper lean and clean.

Yes. The rifle has a 5.56mm NATO chamber, which safely handles both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. That gives you flexibility to run whatever range ammo is easiest to find without any worries.
You sure can. The 16 inch chrome moly barrel is threaded 1/2-28, which is the industry standard for 5.56 ARs. The included A2 flash hider works fine as-is, but you can easily swap on a muzzle brake, compensator, or suppressor mount.
Rock River deliberately built the extruded A4 upper without a forward assist to keep the receiver slim, lightweight, and clean-looking. Most modern sporting rifle users rarely touch the forward assist anyway, and skipping it helps keep the price down without giving up function. The upper still includes an ejection port door to keep debris out of the action.
