The R92 is based on the Winchester 1892 pattern, while the R95 follows the Marlin 336-style design with side ejection, a crossbolt safety, and an easy-loading gate. The R95's receiver also comes drilled and tapped, making it the friendlier option if you plan on running an optic. Both are solid, it mostly comes down to which action style you prefer.
