The Johnny Stewart Rob Roberts SS590RR starts life as a Beretta A400, then Rob Roberts Gun Works gives it their Waterfowl Package treatment along with a Hidden Lake Distressed Cerakote finish that looks broken in from day one and shrugs off mud, salt spray, and boat abuse a lot better than bare metal ever would.
The headline upgrade is the Duck Call cocking handle, an oversized charging handle you can find with numb fingers or a gloved hand when birds are cupped up and dropping in. The trigger gets attention from the Rob Roberts crew too, cleaning up the pull well beyond what a factory hunting gun typically offers. Underneath the custom work, this is still the A400 platform, meaning the gas system that keeps running dirty, soft on the shoulder, and quick back on target for follow-up shots.
The 28 inch vent rib barrel is chrome lined and swings the way a waterfowl gun should, with enough length to smooth out your lead on passing birds without feeling like a boat oar in a cramped layout blind. The aluminum receiver keeps overall weight around 7.7 pounds, and the synthetic stock is right at home getting rained on. Capacity is 3+1, and the whole package is set up right-hand specific.

As a Beretta A400 platform, it uses the Optima HP choke system. That gives you a huge range of aftermarket options, including Rob Roberts' own T-series waterfowl chokes, which pair naturally with this gun. Pattern your preferred choke and load combo before the season and you will know exactly what it can do.
It is built with waterfowl in mind, but the 28 inch vent rib barrel and soft-cycling A400 gas system make it perfectly at home on doves, clays, and upland birds too. The Cerakote finish and synthetic stock just mean you never have to baby it. Think of it as a duck gun first that pulls double duty without complaint.
This particular model is configured right-hand specific. Rob Roberts does build left-handed versions of their A400 customs under different model numbers, so lefties are not out of luck, just not with this exact SKU. If you shoot right-handed, this one is set up and ready to go.
