When the birds are hanging out at the edge of your comfortable range, the Rob Roberts RR3 Raptor is the choke you want threaded in. It sits at the tight end of the Raptor Series, built specifically for long-range work on geese and open-water ducks where those extra yards matter. The internal machining is designed to hold a hotter, denser core pattern downrange, so your pellets stay together when the shot stretches out.
Rob Roberts breaks the Raptor Series down by distance, and the RR3 is the far end of that scale. The RR1 handles close-range targets, the RR2 covers mid-range duck and dove work, and the RR3 is the one made for reaching. If you already run an RR1 or RR2 for early-season decoy work, this is the natural step up for late-season honkers and big water where the birds sit wide.
These tubes are machined from 17-4 PH U.S. stainless steel, which is a good call for a choke that spends its life in wet, corrosive duck-blind conditions. The Raptor Series carries E-Series Cerakote on the extended portion and machined claw marks in place of traditional knurling, so you get a solid grip for changing tubes with cold, wet hands. Rob Roberts machines these to tolerances well past the usual industry standard, which is a big part of why the patterns stay so consistent.
This one is cut for the Standard Invector thread pattern in 20 gauge, so it drops into Invector-marked Browning, Winchester, and compatible shotguns. Standard Invector is not the same as Invector-Plus, so check the stamp on your barrel before ordering. As with any choke, pattern it with the loads you plan to hunt to find the sweet spot, since the RR3 rewards a good shell pairing with tight, even coverage way out there.
