The Retay ACE Extra Black weighs roughly 6 pounds 6 ounces, wears a 28-inch vent rib barrel with a 3-inch chamber, and runs on Retay's Inertia Plus action. What sets that system apart is a small torsion spring that keeps the rotating bolt locked into the chamber until the gun cycles, which prevents the bolt from creeping out of battery when the gun gets bumped in a blind or truck rack. It's a simple fix for one of the oldest gripes with inertia guns, and it works.
Retay ships this one ready to hunt. You get five flush chokes plus an extended waterfowl tube rated for steel up to number 1 shot, so you can go from the dove field to the duck marsh without buying anything extra. The factory-lengthened forcing cone helps smooth out patterns and takes a little sting out of recoil, and the Airy Pad on the back cuts felt recoil by up to 30 percent. Pair that with a TruGlo fiber optic front bead and you've got a gun that points fast and stays comfortable through a full box of shells.
The black synthetic stock includes a shim kit so you can adjust drop and cast until the gun mounts where your eye wants it, with a 14.5-inch length of pull out of the box. The safety button is reversible for left-handed use, the trigger group drops out with a push button for easy cleaning, and the steel receiver comes drilled and tapped if you ever want to mount an optic for turkey season. Capacity is 3+1, and the magazine tube accepts Benelli-pattern extensions if you want more.
