Anyone who has run a suppressed AR knows the routine: a few mags in and you're squinting through gas rolling off the charging handle and ejection port. Q built The Lefty to fix that at the source. Its Low Blow technology uses a directional internal flow path that moves expanding gas forward through the can and vents it in a controlled way rather than shoving it back into the action. That means lower port pressure, less blowback in your face, a slower cyclic rate, and a rifle that stays noticeably cleaner over a long range day. The name is a nod to left-handed folks who catch the worst of the ejection port gas, but every shooter on either side of the receiver feels the difference.
This is not just a printed tube with a logo. The Lefty uses a three-piece design: a Quickie fast-attach taper mount, a tube, and a 3D-printed stainless steel core with an integrated endcap. The printed core allows internal geometry you simply cannot cut on a lathe, and the modular construction means the can may be rebuilt if it ever takes damage. A Melonite finish keeps the whole package tough and corrosion resistant. At 6.5 inches long, 1.625 inches in diameter, and 14.2 ounces, it adds very little bulk to the end of a carbine, and flash signature is minimal when the light drops off.
The Lefty is rated for 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC with full auto approval and zero barrel length restrictions, which is rare in this class. Most 5.56 cans want double digit barrel lengths before the manufacturer will sign off. This one shrugs at short barrels, making it a natural fit for SBRs and pistol-length builds where gas problems are usually at their worst. The Quickie taper mount locks up with a quick twist, centers itself on the taper, and returns to the same spot every time, so swapping between hosts is painless. If reduced backpressure is what finally gets you into a suppressor, this is the can Q designed for exactly that.

The Lefty uses Q's Quickie fast-attach taper mount, which locks onto Q's tapered muzzle devices like the Cherry Bomb muzzle brake. The taper handles centering while the mount handles retention, so it seats the same way every time with a quick twist. Muzzle devices are sold separately, so grab one in the right thread pitch for your barrel.
Yes. The Lefty is full auto rated with no barrel length restrictions, which sets it apart from most 5.56 cans that require a minimum barrel length. Its internal geometry handles the gas volume from SBRs and pistol-length builds, which is where gas blowback tends to be the most miserable anyway.
