Description

The 8.6 Blackout cartridge came out of Q's shop, so it only makes sense the suppressor purpose-built for it did too. The PorQ CHOP was developed right alongside the cartridge, sized and tuned to wring maximum sound reduction out of those heavy subsonic .338 bullets. At 8.6 inches long (yes, they did that on purpose) with a 1.75 inch outside diameter, this is the full-length can in Q's premium steel line, and it gives the big Blackout the volume it needs to sound the way a subsonic .338 should.

Steel That Weighs Like Titanium

Here's the part that surprises most people: this all-steel can weighs just 12 ounces. Q builds the PorQ CHOP using a deep-draw manufacturing process with laser-welded construction, which keeps it lighter than a lot of titanium suppressors while giving up nothing in toughness. Steel also handles heat and sustained fire better than titanium and won't throw sparks, which is a real consideration if you're running a thermal rig on hogs after dark. The black nitride finish shrugs off scratches, burns, and corrosion, so it will keep looking right after seasons of hard use.

Quickie XL Mounting on the PorQ CHOP

The PorQ CHOP runs Q's Quickie XL fast-attach system and ships with an XL Cherry Bomb muzzle device in M18x1.5, so it goes from box to barrel without hunting down extra hardware. This particular model also includes the rear end, and the fast-attach setup makes swapping between hosts quick and repeatable if you're already running Q mounts on other rifles.

More Than an 8.6 BLK Can

While it was born for 8.6 Blackout, the PorQ CHOP is rated for .338 caliber and under, so it happily pulls duty on other .338 chamberings and smaller bores like 300 Blackout. That flexibility makes it easy to justify as the do-it-all can for a bolt gun in the deer woods and a suppressed semi-auto at the range. Big cartridge, big can, and a shop that designed both to work together from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What calibers can the Q PorQ CHOP handle besides 8.6 Blackout?

The PorQ CHOP is rated for .338 caliber and under, so while it's optimized for 8.6 Blackout, it also works on other .338 chamberings like .338 Federal as well as smaller bores such as 300 Blackout. Just make sure your host has the right muzzle device for the Quickie XL mount. It's a genuinely flexible can for a multi-rifle setup.

How does the PorQ CHOP mount to a rifle?

It uses Q's Quickie XL fast-attach system, which locks over an XL Cherry Bomb muzzle device. An M18x1.5 XL Cherry Bomb comes in the box, and this version includes the rear end as well. The fast-attach design lets you swap the can between hosts quickly, including Q rifles like the Fix and Boombox that already wear compatible mounts.

Isn't a steel suppressor heavy compared to titanium?

Not this one. Q's deep-draw manufacturing and laser-welded construction bring the PorQ CHOP in at just 12 ounces, which undercuts a good number of titanium suppressors on the market. You also get steel's advantages: better tolerance for heat and sustained fire, plus no sparking, which matters on night hunts.

What's the difference between the PorQ CHOP and the Short Chop?

Both are part of Q's premium steel line built alongside the 8.6 Blackout cartridge. The PorQ CHOP is the full-length option at 8.6 inches, which gives it more internal volume and maximum sound reduction with heavy subsonics. The Short Chop trades some suppression for a more compact package, so pick the PorQ CHOP if quiet is the priority.
