The Cherry Bomb is one of those parts that does two jobs and does both of them well. On its own, it's a compact 17-4 stainless steel brake with 360-degree circumferential ports that tame recoil on your 45 caliber host. Pair it with a Q silencer like the Trash Panda or Thunder Chicken and it becomes the heart of the Quickie Fast-Attach system, letting you spin your can on by hand in seconds with no wrenches, no shims, and no timing headaches. This version is cut with .578-28 threads and a 45 cal bore, so it's the right pick for large-bore pistol caliber builds.
The secret is the taper mount shoulder. That tapered interface self-centers the brake on your barrel and gives Q suppressors an incredibly repeatable lockup, which matters when you're pulling a can on and off and expecting your zero to stay put. As a bonus, the taper seals off the threads so carbon can't creep in and lock everything together the way it does on plenty of other QD mounts. It's also backwards compatible with standard 90-degree shouldered barrels, so you're not stuck if your barrel doesn't have a matching taper cut.
Installation is refreshingly simple. The front of the brake accepts a common 1/2 inch socket, and a 1/4 inch drive socket tends to fit the flats best. Thread it onto your .578-28 muzzle, snug it down, and you're done. No crush washers, no peel washers, no fiddling with port alignment since the ports wrap all the way around.
At just 2 ounces and 1.64 inches long, it only adds about 0.8 inches to your barrel, so you get suppressor-ready convenience without turning your setup into a boat anchor. If you're running Q gear on a 45 caliber host, this is the mount that ties the whole system together.
It's built for Q's Quickie Fast-Attach system, so it mounts the Trash Panda, Thunder Chicken, and other Q cans that use the same interface. It also pairs with Q's Plan B adapter setup for mounting certain other suppressors. The tapered lockup is very repeatable, so your can returns to the same position every time.

Yes, it's backwards compatible with standard 90-degree shouldered barrels. That said, it performs at its best on barrels with a matching taper cut, which is where you get the self-centering alignment and the thread-sealing benefit that keeps carbon out. Either way, it mounts up securely on properly cut .578-28 threads.
Very little. The whole brake is 1.64 inches long and weighs just 2 ounces, and since part of it threads over the barrel, it only adds about 0.8 inches to your overall length. It's one of the more compact QD suppressor mounts out there.
