The Honey Badger has a backstory most firearms can only dream of. The original was developed at AAC when an elite special operations unit wanted to replace their suppressed MP5-SDs with something that hit harder but stayed just as quiet and compact. Kevin Brittingham brought that concept to Q and rebuilt it from the ground up, improving the gas system, trigger, and brace along the way. This pistol version delivers the full Honey Badger experience in a package that weighs right around 4.5 pounds thanks to hard-anodized 7075 aluminum receivers and a weight-conscious design throughout.
This gun was built for a suppressor from day one, not adapted for one later. The 7-inch barrel uses an aggressive 1:5 twist that spins up heavy subsonic .300 Blackout loads fast enough to keep 200 and 220 grain bullets stable and accurate, which slower twist rates struggle with out of short barrels. The Cherry Bomb muzzle brake comes installed and its tapered design makes mounting a can quick and repeatable, while the low-profile adjustable gas block lets you tune the action to run clean whether you are shooting suppressed subsonics or unsuppressed supers.
The two-position telescoping brace is one of the simplest setups out there. Push the button, pull it out to its locked position, and you are ready to go, with an overall length that runs from 20 inches closed to 25 inches extended. The 2-stage match trigger is a genuine standout and breaks clean enough to make precision work feel easy on a gun this small. A 6-inch free-floating M-LOK handguard and full-length top rail give you room for a light and optic, controls are familiar AR-style with a crisp 70-degree safety selector, and it feeds from standard AR-15 magazines with a 30-rounder in the box. The Flat Dark Earth anodized finish gives it that unmistakable Q look, and slight tonal variation between parts is part of the character of clear-coat anodizing.

It is one of the best out there, and that is by design. The platform was purpose-built for suppressed use, with a Cherry Bomb muzzle brake whose tapered profile makes mounting Q suppressors like the Trash Panda or Thunder Chicken fast and secure. The adjustable gas block also lets you tune the gun to cycle cleanly with a can attached.
Yes, and this is where the 1:5 twist barrel earns its keep. Most short .300 Blackout barrels run a 1:7 or 1:8 twist, which can struggle to stabilize heavy 200 to 220 grain subsonic bullets. The faster twist gets those slow, heavy projectiles spinning fast enough for consistent accuracy, and range testing across supersonic and subsonic loads backs that up.
It feeds from standard AR-15 pattern magazines, so mags you already own will work. One 30-round magazine ships with the pistol. Just make sure you are running quality .300 Blackout ammo through it, since the cartridge shares magazine dimensions with 5.56.
Q uses a simple two-position telescoping brace with no in-between settings. Press the release, pull it straight back to the locked position, and you are set, which makes deployment fast without fiddling with adjustment levers. Collapsed, the whole pistol measures about 20 inches, extending to roughly 25 inches.
