The Cherry Bomb is the muzzle device that anchors Q's whole Quickie Fast-Attach system, and this version is bored for 9mm with the common 1/2×28 thread pitch. It pulls double duty on your pistol caliber build: a working brake that vents gas through 360 degree circumferential ports, and a taper mount that your Q suppressor locks onto with dead-on repeatability. Because the ports wrap all the way around the body, there is no timing to fuss with and no shim kits or crush washers to buy. Thread it on, snug it down, done.
Q machined a 1/2 inch socket interface into the front of the brake, so install and removal takes a basic socket and a torque wrench instead of specialty tools. A 1/4 inch drive socket tends to give the best clearance on these. The taper mount shoulder indexes against Q taper barrels for perfect alignment, and the brake remains backwards compatible with standard 90 degree shouldered barrels, so it works fine on the muzzle threads most 9mm carbines and AR-9 barrels already have. One thing worth knowing before you order: the 9mm Cherry Bomb does not have a taper on the inner threads, which is a design difference from the standard version.
Machined from 17-4 stainless steel and weighing just 2 ounces, the Cherry Bomb adds only 0.8 inches to your barrel length, so it will not turn your handy PCC into a broomstick. The larger 9mm bore also means you can run it on a 5.56 rifle if you want one mount pattern across multiple guns. It mates with the Thunder Chicken, Trash Panda, and other suppressors built on the Plan-B mounting system, giving you fast on-and-off swaps between hosts.
Even if a suppressor is not in your immediate plans, this is a solid standalone brake that tames muzzle movement on 9mm carbines and speeds up follow-up shots. And when you do add a Q can down the road, your barrel is already wearing the right mount. That kind of forward thinking is hard to argue with.

The brake serves as the muzzle-side half of the Quickie Fast-Attach setup, so the can spins on and locks against the taper shoulder in seconds. Just remember to match your bullet diameter to the suppressor's bore rating.
No. The 360 degree circumferential ports vent evenly in every direction, so there is no top or bottom to line up. You just thread it on and torque it down with a 1/2 inch socket on the front of the brake. That saves you a shim kit and a lot of trial and error.
