Instead of a standard follower that slides up the magazine body, the RM5FDE features a patented anti-tilt roller follower with wheels that roll smoothly without friction-causing bind. This design philosophy runs through every part of the magazine. The body itself uses DuPont Zytel polymer, lightweight yet tough enough for regular use. The internal spring is heat-treated chrome silicon wire, engineered to maintain its tension even after sitting loaded for up to six years in storage. The wheels on the follower do more than just reduce friction. By rolling rather than sliding, the design prevents the follower from tilting or binding up as you load or unload rounds. It works with both. This magazine is chambered for .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm NATO, so you can run either caliber through it without any issues. Standard practice is to use whichever your AR is chambered for, but many rifles handle both just fine.
The roller follower has wheels that roll up and down the magazine body instead of sliding, which reduces friction and prevents tilting or binding as you load rounds.
