Construction uses DuPont Zytel polymer for the drum housing paired with a heat-treated stainless steel spring and injection-molded follower. As with all ProMag drums, this one works best when kept clean and lightly lubricated with a light oil or CLP. Don't load it to absolute maximum capacity right out of the box either; break in the spring first by cycling ammo through several loaded sessions before expecting full reliability with every round. This is true for virtually all new drum magazines and is not specific to ProMag.
