The ProMag PM140A gives you a clean, no-frills way to add a single-point sling mount to an AR-pattern rifle without bolting on extra hardware. It drops in as a direct replacement for the standard collapsible-stock retaining plate, so the only tools you need are the ones already required to pull your buffer tube castle nut. Once it's seated, you've got a dedicated attachment point ready for a single-point setup.
The plate carries two loops instead of one, and that's the whole idea behind the ambidextrous design. You can clip your hook-style sling connector to either side, which means the rifle can hang and be worn on your right or your left depending on how you shoot and carry. That's handy for lefties, for anyone who trains switching shoulders, or for folks who just want the option down the road. The loops accept standard hook-type single-point connectors, the kind you'll find on most quality single-point slings.
This one is cut from carbon steel and finished in black oxide, so it's holding a sling that's carrying the weight of the whole gun and it's built to take that load. Steel is the right call here since a single-point mount sees real stress every time you sling up, transition, or let the rifle drop to hang. The black-oxide coating keeps it low-key and matches the rest of a typical black rifle build. It's also made in the USA.

You'll loosen the castle nut, slide off the factory end plate, drop the PM140A in its place, and torque everything back down. It works with 4 and 6-position collapsible stock setups on standard AR-pattern rifles and pistols. If you've never touched a castle nut before, a proper wrench and a few minutes of patience will get you there.
It replaces the standard receiver end plate that sits behind the castle nut on a collapsible-stock AR. You remove the factory retaining plate and install the PM140A in its place. It's designed to work with both 4 and 6-position collapsible stock setups.
