The Pointer Field Tek FT12 is a gas-operated 12-gauge semi-auto that leans hard into the turkey and field hunting world. That 24-inch vent rib barrel keeps the gun compact and quick to maneuver in thick cover, and the gas-operated action does real work here, cycling reliably across a range of 2-3/4" and 3" loads while soaking up felt recoil in the process. The aluminum receiver and barrel wear a durable OD Green Cerakote finish, and the fixed synthetic stock is wrapped in Mossy Oak Bottomland, which remains one of the most effective timber and early-season camo patterns around. At 8.2 lbs, it has some welcome heft that helps steady your hold on those longer setups.
Pointer included an optic plate that's Delta Point Pro-compatible right out of the box, which is a genuinely useful inclusion on a turkey gun. Combined with the drilled and tapped aluminum receiver, running a red dot or a dedicated turkey dot on this gun requires zero extra hardware. The fiber optic front sight handles the iron option capably in low light, and the crossbolt safety sits where your thumb naturally finds it. Five extended choke tubes also come in the package, giving you options from cylinder all the way to full, so you can dial in your pattern for whatever load you're running.
Pointer shotguns are manufactured in Turkey and brought in by Legacy Sports International, and the FT12 line punches well above what you might expect at this price point. The gas system keeps fouling manageable and the action running smooth, even when you push it through a full day in the field. The Mossy Oak Bottomland synthetic stock is weather-resistant and holds up to hard use without the maintenance concerns of a wood stock. The 3-inch chamber gives you access to the full range of 12-gauge hunting loads, from light field loads to the heavier turkey-specific rounds. Whether you're calling birds into a blind or working a swamp bottom on a waterfowl shoot, the FT12 is built to go where you go.
The 24-inch barrel length, Mossy Oak Bottomland camo pattern, and included Delta Point Pro-compatible optic plate all point to this gun being purpose-built for turkey hunting. The 3-inch chamber handles the heavy turkey loads you need for reliable knockdown performance, and the gas-operated action helps manage recoil when running magnum rounds. The included extended choke tubes let you tighten your pattern down to where it needs to be for longer shots in the field.
The Pointer FT12 ships with 5 extended choke tubes covering the full range of constrictions. Pointer shotguns use a mobile choke system compatible with the standard Beretta/Benelli Mobil thread pattern, which is one of the most widely supported choke systems out there. That means aftermarket options, including dedicated turkey and ported chokes, are easy to find.
Yes, and this is actually one of the better features of this particular model. The FT12 comes with a Delta Point Pro-compatible optic plate already included, and the aluminum receiver is drilled and tapped as well. That gives you a solid mounting foundation without needing to buy additional hardware before hitting the woods.
The Pointer FT12 runs a gas-operated action designed to handle both 2-3/4" and 3" 12-gauge loads. Gas-operated semi-autos are generally more forgiving across different load weights compared to inertia-driven guns, making the FT12 a solid choice if you plan to run a mix of light field loads and heavier turkey or waterfowl rounds. As with any semi-auto, a break-in period with full-power loads is a good idea before pushing light target loads through it.
Cerakote is a polymer-ceramic coating that bonds to metal surfaces and provides strong resistance to corrosion, moisture, and abrasion. It's a meaningful upgrade over a standard blued finish, especially for a hunting gun that's going to see rain, mud, and rough handling. The OD Green color on both the barrel and receiver also keeps the gun looking clean and cohesive with the Mossy Oak Bottomland stock.
The Pointer FT12 is manufactured in Turkey and imported into the United States by Legacy Sports International. Turkish-made shotguns have developed a strong reputation for quality and value over the past couple of decades, and Pointer in particular has been a reliable name in the semi-auto field shotgun category.
