The Phoenix started as a passion project at Patriot Ordnance Factory, and it shows. This is not a budget 9mm carbine slapped together from parts bin leftovers. The upper receiver is fully monolithic, meaning the handguard and receiver are machined as one continuous piece, so your optic and M-LOK accessories sit on a rock-solid foundation that never shifts zero. Down below, a billet lower carries fully ambidextrous controls, including the mag release and bolt release, and the whole rifle wears a clean Flat Dark Earth finish.
Instead of a traditional AR charging handle, the Phoenix uses a forward-mounted, non-reciprocating charging handle that folds flat when you are not using it and can be swapped to either side of the gun. Left-handed folks get a genuinely equal experience here, which is rare in this category. The direct blowback action is simple and dependable, and POF balanced the bolt mass well, so the recoil impulse feels smooth rather than clunky like some blowback 9mms. Feeding duty is handled by POF's proprietary 35-round magazine, a curved double-stack design built for reliable feeding, and it ships with a polymer loader that saves your thumbs at the range.
The nitride-treated match barrel wears 1/2×28 threads and a two-port muzzle brake, so adding a can is as simple as spinning off the brake. Cheap 9mm ammo, a long sight radius, and mild recoil make this a fantastic trainer, plinker, or home setup, and running it suppressed with subsonics is where it really gets fun. A 1:10 twist stabilizes the full range of common 9mm loads.
At just 5.75 pounds unloaded with an MFT Minimalist stock and Mission First Tactical grip, the Phoenix handles quick and points naturally. Between the ambi controls, the QD sling mounting options, and the included hand stop, POF sweated the small details on this one. Add an optic and you are set.

It is one of the better ones in the PCC world. The barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 under a removable two-port brake, so mounting a can takes about a minute. The direct blowback action pairs nicely with subsonic 9mm, and the 16.5 inch barrel keeps everything quiet and smooth.
Very much so. The magazine release and bolt release are fully ambidextrous, and the forward-mounted charging handle is non-reciprocating and can be moved to either the left or right side of the rifle. It also folds flat when not in use, so it stays out of your way regardless of which shoulder you run it from.
The Phoenix uses a self-contained recoil system rather than relying on a traditional AR buffer and spring to cycle the action. The rifle version does include a mil-spec buffer tube at the rear 1913 Picatinny interface to mount the MFT Minimalist stock, which keeps the stock setup familiar and easy to swap if you want something different.
