It's a friction-fit rubber insert made specifically for their Kung Fu Grip, and it turns that hollow cavity into a smart little storage compartment you'll forget is even there until you need it.

What the Kung Fu Grip Plug Actually Holds

There's more room in here than you'd expect. The plug accepts two CR123, AA, or AAA batteries, plus a dedicated slot for a single CR2032, a pocket sized for a small Allen or Torx wrench, and a spot for a MultiTasker NANO tool. That means spare batteries for your optic or light and a couple of tools for quick adjustments can ride right in the grip, always where you can reach them. Die Free even points out it'll hold a stash of Skittles or M&Ms if you'd rather pack tactical snacks than tools.

Built From Durable Rubber, Made in the USA

This is molded from tough rubber and holds in place with friction, so no extra hardware or adhesive is needed. Drainage holes on the bottom let water clear out, which matters if you run your rifle in wet weather. It comes in at just 0.7 oz and stands 1.5 inches tall, so it adds function without any real weight penalty. Like the rest of the Die Free lineup, it's made in the USA.
