Patriot Ordnance Factory set out with Project Rogue to shrink a full-power .308 down to something that carries like an AR-15, and this complete upper is the heart of that idea. Instead of hacking lightening cuts into the receivers, POF trimmed the forged upper in non-critical areas and paired it with a slim-contour barrel and a shorter Renegade rail. The result is a .308-caliber assembly light enough to make all-day field carry realistic, which is a rare thing for a semi-auto thirty-cal.

What Sets the Rogue Upper Apart

The 16.5-inch barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel with a 1:8 twist and 6R right-hand rifling, threaded 5/8×24 and topped with POF's single-port Micro-B muzzle brake to keep muzzle rise in check. That 1:8 twist was a deliberate move over the older 1:10 Revolution barrels, giving you better stabilization for heavier hunting-weight bullets. Up front sits the 11-inch M-LOK Renegade rail wrapped around POF's oversized heat sink barrel nut, a three-inch aluminum piece that surrounds the chamber and pulls heat away far faster than a standard steel nut.

Inside the POF Rogue .308 Assembly

This upper ships complete with the KeyLock DI bolt carrier group and POF's patented roller cam pin, which rolls inside the receiver channel to cut friction and extend the life of the upper. You also get the ambidextrous Strike Eagle charging handle, M4 feed ramps, and a U.S. flag ejection port cover. The whole package wears an OD Green anodized finish over the receiver and handguard, with the matte black stainless barrel giving it a clean two-tone look.

One thing to know before you buy: Rogue uppers are built to run only on POF's Revolution CMR and Rogue LMR lower receivers, not standard mil-spec AR lowers. If you already have a compatible POF lower or plan to build on one, this is a slick way to add a lightweight .308 to the rotation without assembling a barreled upper from scratch.
