It's a small crown glass lens that attaches to either eye of any OptiVisor or OptiVisor LX and adds 2.5X magnification on top of whatever lens plate you already have installed.
Installation is about as easy as it gets. The LP-1 mounts with a single screw and can go on the left or right side depending on which eye you favor, and it can be moved over to the other side later if you change your mind. Once it's on, the loupe swivels up and down freely, so you flip it into your line of sight when you need that extra power and swing it up out of the way the rest of the time.

The OptiLoupe is monocular by design, meaning it works over one eye while the other stays at your OptiVisor's base magnification.
