It packs in every pin, spring, detent, and small part needed to bring that lower to life, leaving out only the buffer tube assembly and stock since most builders pick those based on the stock or brace they're running anyway. That makes it a clean choice for a fresh build or a way to swap out worn or broken components on a rifle you've already got.
The heart of the kit is a phosphate-coated single-stage Mil-Spec trigger with a 5.5 to 7 lb pull and the proven fire control geometry that's been running in these rifles for decades. You also get the A2-style pistol grip, which carries traditional AR-15 ergonomics and a small internal storage compartment handy for a spare bolt or detent. The grip screw and lock washer thread it down tight and double as the anchor that captures your safety selector detent spring.
Inside the box you'll find the full fire control group, both takedown and pivot pins with their detents and springs, the mag catch assembly, bolt catch and its roll pin, trigger guard, buffer retainer and spring, plus the grip hardware. Most first-time builders can finish a lower in roughly an hour to two hours once their tools are ready. The bolt catch roll pin and the trigger group take the most patience since the parts are small and fit tight. Going slow and laying everything out beforehand makes the whole job smoother.
A roll pin punch set, a gunsmithing hammer, and a bench block cover most of the work, plus a screwdriver or Allen key for the grip screw. None of these are strictly mandatory, but they make the bolt catch and pin installs far easier and help protect your receiver's finish. Masking tape over the receiver around the bolt catch is cheap insurance against scratches.
