The ODIN Works XMR2 Gen 2 fixes that with a bigger, easier to reach paddle that lets you dump a magazine without shifting your grip or breaking your sight picture. It bolts right onto AR-15 and AR-10 lower receivers, and the whole swap takes just a few minutes with basic tools.
The headline here is BAD lever compatibility. The original XMR was a hit, but folks kept asking for a version that worked alongside a Magpul Battery Assist Device, so ODIN went back to the drawing board and built the Gen 2 around it. Whether you run a BAD lever or not, the larger surface area means anyone can find and press the release, regardless of hand or finger size.
This release is cut from billet 6061 aluminum and carries ODIN's signature boomerang cuts, which aren't just for looks. That texturing gives your finger something to grab so the paddle doesn't slip when you press it, and the contoured shape rewards a positive push. The complete unit, paddle, button, and screws included, tips the scale at right around a tenth of an ounce, so you're adding function without any real weight penalty.
One thing worth flagging: the XMR2 will not work with anti-walk pins unless you modify the part. If you're running standard pins, you're all set. This is a straightforward, high-impact upgrade for a range or competition rifle, and it's the kind of small change that makes a noticeable difference in how your gun handles during fast reloads.
