Most pistol caliber carbines are built to a price point. This one is built the way Noveske builds everything, and it shows the moment you pick it up. The N9 "The Schwartz" starts with Gen 4 upper and lower receivers machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, hardcoat Type III anodized, then finished in Bazooka Green Cerakote for a look you will not mistake for anything else on the rack. An adjustable tension screw pulls the upper and lower together so there is no rattle, and the oversized flared magwell feeds from common Colt-style 9mm magazines. One Noveske-marked 32 round mag comes in the box.
The 16 inch 416R stainless barrel runs a 1:12 twist suited to 9mm, with a hand polished chamber and feed cone for smooth cycling through the direct blowback action. Up front, a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle wears a Noveske tri-lug adapter that doubles as a thread protector, so you are ready for a tri-lug suppressor mount right out of the box. The bolt carrier group is diamond-like coated, and a Vltor A5H4 buffer with carbine spring keeps the blowback action running smoother than most 9mm ARs manage.
Noveske did not skimp where your hands go. You get a TriggerTech two stage drop-in trigger, the ambidextrous Love Handle charging handle, an ambi bolt release, a paddle-style mag release paired with the standard AR button, and a Radian Talon 45/90 safety. Furniture is a B5 Systems Bravo stock and Type 22 grip, and Magpul MBUS Pro steel sights come installed front and rear. The 15 inch Gen 4 NSR handguard gives you M-LOK slots every 45 degrees under a full-length Picatinny top rail, all wrapped around a lightweight American-made steel barrel nut.
At around 7 pounds dry with a 31.25 inch collapsed length, the N9 balances well and eats through range sessions without wearing you out. Cheap ammo, big mags, and Noveske quality is a combination that is hard to argue with.
The N9 feeds from Colt-style stick magazines, one of the most proven patterns in the 9mm AR world. The lower has an oversized flared magwell that makes reloads quick, and one Noveske-marked 32 round mag comes with the rifle. Aftermarket Colt-pattern mags are easy to find if you want spares.
Yes, and more so than most. The 16 inch barrel is threaded 1/2×28 and wears a Noveske tri-lug adapter, so you can run a tri-lug quick-detach can directly or remove it and use standard thread-mount suppressors. That flexibility is a big part of why folks buy 9mm carbines in the first place.
Very much so. It has an ambidextrous bolt release, a paddle-style mag release alongside the usual AR button, a Radian Talon 45/90 safety that works from either side, and Noveske's Love Handle ambidextrous charging handle. Lefties can run this rifle without any workarounds.
Direct blowback 9mm guns typically cycle with a bit more bolt mass moving around, but Noveske tuned this one with a Vltor A5H4 buffer and carbine spring to smooth things out. Combined with the hand polished chamber and feed cone, it runs softer and more consistently than most guns in the category. Recoil is still mild overall since it is just a 9mm in a 7 pound rifle.
