It starts life as 416R stainless steel and gets a 1:7 twist that stabilizes everything from lightweight varmint loads to heavier 77-grain match ammo. The bore is finished with Noveske's proprietary hand-polished Match chamber, and the muzzle wears a 60-degree crown for consistent, repeatable groups. This is a barrel meant for a serious build.
The standout detail on this particular model is the mid-length gas system. On an 11.5" barrel that softens the recoil impulse and slows down the pressure spike compared to a carbine-length setup, which means less wear on your bolt and a noticeably smoother shooting rifle. If you plan on running a can, that gentler gas curve pays off even more. It ships with a pinned .750" low-profile Noveske-marked gas block and a matched gas tube, so the gas system is already dialed to length and ready to drop under your handguard.
The barrel uses an M4-style extension with hand-polished, extended feed ramps for reliable feeding, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 so you can add the flash hider, comp, or suppressor mount of your choice. Every barrel is individually serialized for quality control, which tells you Noveske tracks each one through the shop. Worth noting: the included gas block is 1" long, so a standard 1.9" front sight base will not fit over this barrel.
At 11.5 inches, this length is a favorite for compact, maneuverable AR-15 builds where you still want real 5.56 performance out of the muzzle. It chambers both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington, giving you plenty of flexibility for range time, training, and defensive loads. Installation of the gas block dowel pin and gas block is required to finish the assembly, and having a qualified gunsmith handle the barrel install is the smart move.
