Every once in a while a gun comes through the shop that makes everybody stop and look. The NAA Chuckwagon is one of those. It takes North American Arms' proven .22 Magnum mini-revolver and mounts it in a big, ornate Western-style belt buckle, the kind of rig that traces back to Richard Casull's original buckle gun design from the 1980s. NAA brought the concept back in Magnum form, and the result is part working revolver, part trophy buckle, and all conversation starter.
The gun itself is NAA's classic Magnum Short Barrel mini. It's all stainless steel with a matte finish, a 1.13 inch barrel, a five-shot cylinder, and two-piece rosewood birdshead grips that give it that old-frontier look. It runs single action with a spur trigger and fixed sights, and it measures just 4.63 inches long while weighing a feather-light 6.2 ounces. The cylinder has safety notches cut between the chambers, so the hammer can rest securely with all five rounds loaded, which is exactly how you want it sitting in the buckle.
The buckle is the showpiece. It's a big oval decorated with raised floral engraving, an NAA banner across the top, and the company's eagle head logo at the bottom, styled a lot like a rodeo trophy buckle. The revolver nests in a canted cutout and gets held at three points: the hammer spur tucks under the frame, a magnet steadies the gun, and a spring-loaded arm swings over the trigger. Press the release and the arm drops so you can pull the revolver free. The loop on the back fits belts from 1 inch up to 1.5 inches wide.
This one lands with collectors, NAA mini fans, and anybody who appreciates Western flair with real function behind it. Wear it, display it, or add it to a mini-revolver collection. Either way, the Chuckwagon is the kind of piece people remember seeing.
The buckle retains the mini-revolver at three points. The tip of the hammer spur tucks under a cutout, a small magnet supports the frame, and a spring-loaded arm swings over the spur trigger. To draw the gun, you press the release on the arm and swing it down, which keeps the revolver locked in until you want it out.
