Set the block flat on your bench and nestle the receiver into it, or slide the narrow arm up into the magwell and clamp the wide base in your vise to hold the lower vertically. Either way, your hands stay free and the receiver stays put.
This one tool covers a lot of ground during a build. It has a dedicated section for gas block roll pin installation, a spot for trigger guard work, and a fire control pin assembly area, so you can install the hammer, trigger, and disconnector pins without the receiver sliding around. There is also a recessed small parts tray built in, which keeps detents, springs, and pins from rolling off the bench and disappearing into the shop floor. Slide the smaller portion into the magwell when you want to look straight down into the receiver during fire control work.
